I've decided to let you know why I listen to techno and raggacore and dubstep along with metal and rock. I grew up listening to metal and punk and hard rock. I know some of you think is is good, considering bands like Black Sabbath and Pink Floyd are great, I listened to it all the time. Now imagine listening to basically the same music for years. Gets old, doesn't it?
So came the day I bought the Demon Days album. I listened to it and found the rather pop-ish sound of the Gorillaz to my liking. Another good reason was when my aunt put a Gnarls Barkley CD on my iTunes library in 2006. It sat there for about two years before I willingly gave it a listen. Though I was still into the rock music, I enjoyed it. Though I had been listening to some stuff on the NGAP before that. Mostly techno, trance and electronic songs, it still made me appreciate music more.
A couple of years later, I am introduced (by BrokenPaw) to Renard. To sum up the man's works as short as possible: it's an orgy of genres (that would displease metalheads and those similar). Over one year later, in March 2011, I appreciate Renard, but do not forget the music I listened to when I grew up. Ozzy, Queen, Black Sabbath, Metallica... the good stuff.
I hope you enjoyed this wall of text as much as I didn't when writing it whilst completely devoid of any emotion whatsoever.
Kudos to Renard, BrokenPaw, and, for no reason in particular, Goddamn Motherfucking Rig.
Also, THE GAME.
